The Ferry from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy is a 16 hour endeavour, up early (no problem) and get to bed late (problem) but worth the trip, wow what beautiful views.
With less than a week to Bianca's departure, we opt to spend time on the south east part of the island, skipping a bunch of beautiful stuff like Tofino, Uclelet and Long Beach where the weather forcast isn't as promising... Quick overnight at Union bay and the next morning we continue on to Hornby island (another 2 x 20 minute ferries to get there) and BAM we hit the jackpot without knowing it... wowoee beaches and sunsets, locals are super friendly and the weather is perfect.

Tribune Bay Beach, voted one of the 10 nicest beaches in Canada

You can easily spend a week or 2 on Hornby 😍 but for us, 3 days of baking in the sun and gorgeous sunsets and it's time to go and check out Nanaimo and Victoria.
One last ferry back to mainland BC and Bianca is off to Montreal while I stick around and get some maintenance done on "Le Monstre".
